Tulsa Mediation Attorney

Frederick K. Slicker is a Tulsa business lawyer practicing law since 1968 with a primary focus on providing practical solutions to a wide range of business problems.  Mr. Slicker is solution-oriented, client-focused and cost-conscious.  Mr. Slicker earned a Masters in Law degree (LLM) from Harvard Law School in 1973 and a Juris Doctor degree (JD) with Highest Distinction from the University of Kansas Law School in 1968.   Mr. Slicker served as a Captain in the US Army Judge Advocate General’s Corps from June,1968 through July,1972.  Mr. Slicker has been peer selected for many years as a Best Lawyer in America in the areas of Mergers and Acquisitions and in Franchise Law and has been peer selected for many years with the highest possible AV rating from Martindale-Hubbell.

As a mediator, Mr. Slicker acts as an independent, impartial neutral. The mediator does not make rulings, enter findings of fact, weigh the evidence, judge credibility, determine admissibility of evidence or otherwise determine the resolution of the dispute. The parties, not the mediator, decide. The mediator assists and facilitates the parties toward resolution of the dispute by mutual agreement. Mr. Slicker notes that there are many advantages of mediation over litigation, some of which are as follows:

  • Mediation looks to the future, not to evidence or proof of past facts.
  • Mediation focuses on the shared interests of the participants, not their hard and fast legal positions.
  • Mediation allows the parties to be creative and flexible, not bound by fixed and rigid rules of procedure or rules of evidence.
  • Mediation is not bound by procedural requirements. Venue, jurisdiction and legal precedent are not the issue.
  • Mediation permits resolution of collateral interests involving both the parties to the dispute and those non-parties affected by the resolution of the dispute.
  • Mediation saves time, effort, energy and money for all parties and their counsel.
  • Mediation provides certainty through mutual agreement; there are no appeals of mediated agreements
  • Mediation can preserve existing and future relationships of the participants.
  • Mediation enables all participants to win.
